Sound Effects

We are also thinking of incorporating some sound effects into our music video as it would add more of an urban feel. For example we have got the sound of a heart beaing, this adds tension and makes the viewer get a sense of the performers nerves on the way to the studio. we also have the sound of traffic, this gives the video more of an urban built up feel.
We are including these sounds as they help to set the scene and give more of an urban feel to our video.

Feedback from 28

Yeah. It's looking quite promising from what you have put up, like the studio and start/stop button snippets.

Good stuff, looking forward to the final piece :)

Comment from group 25 on rough cut

Looks good, you've managed to get the lip syncing in time which with your song has got to be a challenge. so yeee.

its all looking good, we like the 'start' button touch, felt it worked well.

Second Filming Session.

Last night, on October the 10th, we went out on our second filming session. We went out at night time which enabled us to get some night time shots. We done this filming at a number of different locations. These were graffiti garages near man on the moon pub in cambridge, Mill Road and Arbury. As a group we are happy with the footage we captured on the night. We beleive we got a good variety of shots and the night time shots looked more urban and therefore were more effective.

Filming

Last Thursday our group went out to film some of our footage. We drove to Mill road where we filmed a number of street shots. We then drove to Arbury were we once again filmed more street shots. These shots consisted of our artist performing. When we were at Mill Road we went to the recording studio where we were able to shoot footage of our performer rapping in a studio. We, as a group, were fairly happy with the footage we captured and will be going out to film more footage soon.

Test Footage

We decided it would be benifical if we, as a group, went out to film some test footage. We used locations within the Long Road campus. The test footage allowed us to try out different shot angles. For example, shots looking up at the artist to make them appear big and powerful. The test footage also gave our artist the oportunity to rap the lyrics of our choosen song as it is a fairly difficult task. The footage we took was not perfect, however, it gave us the oportunity to use different shot types and enabled us to see how the different techniques, such as hand held footage, looked. We also got the oportunity to edit the test footage. This gave us good ideas on what effects worked well. We thought the flashing of the solorized clips near the beginning of the footage was very effective.
